What better way to pay homage to than by imagineering new attractions based on classic films ? Dreaming Up a Ride: Midnight Chase through Sleepy Hollow
One of our favorite shorts here at The Blue Sky Lounge is The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Let's transport ourselves to the hauntingly beautiful world of Sleepy Hollow, inspired by Washington Irving's classic tale and brought to life by Disney's animated adaptation. Picture a ride that immerses guests in the mysterious atmosphere of Sleepy Hollow, where Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman come to life in a thrilling adventure.
Ride Concept: "Midnight Chase through Sleepy Hollow"
Queue Experience: As guests enter the queue, they find themselves entering Ichabod's school house, then out into the quaint village of Sleepy Hollow. Lantern-lit pathways and buildings with lit pumpkins lead them through the town square, past the harvest party, and into the eerie woods where the legend unfolds.
Ride Experience: Deep in the forest guests board specially designed carriages reminiscent of the film and embark on a moonlit journey through the dark woods with Ichabod back towards his home. As the riders travel through the forest they catch glimpses of the Headless Horseman. After taking a wrong turn The Headless Horseman's midnight chase ensues, with spine-tingling encounters and surprises around every turn. Utilizing cutting-edge technology, the ride seamlessly blends classic animation with modern visual effects, bringing the characters to life in a way similar to the characters on Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway.
Finale: The climax of the ride unfolds as guests find themselves at the iconic covered bridge, facing the legendary Headless Horseman in a breathtaking encounter. After trying to cross the bridge the carraige drops just before the end of the bridge leading us around a corner and to the unload area back in the town. As guest disembark and exit the show building they over hear villagers talking to one another about Ichabod's random disappearance.
